JAS Red Angus started in 98 with the purchase of JMD 10H, from a select female sale.  The following year groups of bred heifers were purchased from Tatton Red Angus and Girvinmere Red Angus, alas the start of the JAS herd.  We have continued to expand our genetics through the extensive use of AI and some embryo work.


JMD is the company that has the commercial cattle as well as the land and machinery.  It was formed in 94 with my parents and myself.  Doug and Jane have been on the farm since 73 which has been around since the 1800's.  My grandparents house which is still used by myself was built in 1906.  JMD is the brand with the J and D joining both sides of M.  The farm is located on Hwy 16 three and a half miles east of Neepawa, on the south side of the highway.
